ABOUT

It’s over two years now since the Government announced their presumption in favour of offsite manufacturing but has the industry really moved towards a manufacturing approach, let alone a digital manufacturing approach? Here at thinkBIM we believe that digital offsite manufacturing has come of age and are pleased to bring you some great speakers who are making digital the way they work.

The Berkeley Modular Digital Journey: The benefits of a Single source of Data provided by the manufacturer

Learn how Berkeley Modular transitioned to managing structured, interoperable product data through the implementation of a digital data strategy supported by our event sponsors for this conference, Cobuilder and Berkeley’s. James Smith, Technical Director at Majenta Solutions will be presenting on this successful collaboration of offsite and technology.

Lorraine McMorrow, McAvoy Group: How to Digitise Offsite Construction – Create, Interrogate and Construct

The McAvoy Group – recently awarded BIM Contractor of the Year – has pioneered the use of digital technology in the design, manufacture and installation of its offsite building projects for a number of years. They see tremendous synergy between offsite construction with its speed and quality benefits – and the latest digital techniques, which can radically improve the way we design and produce new buildings.

We have some great topics lined-up including #manufacturing, #DigitalTwin, AI/Mobile + much more!  Running for over six years now, thinkBIM conferences blend presentations from key speakers in the digital construction field with panel debates, round table discussions, networking and often a little something different for the final session. Many of our presenters have gone on to be leaders in the BIM/Digital field at their respective organisations as well as sitting on national and international forums and advisory groups.

Key dates for 2019/2020 are as follows;

Wednesday 4th December 2019
Wednesday 4th March 2020

Twilight seminar

The Rose Bowl, Leeds – Room RB437, theatre B

We are pleased to be hosting another joint event with CIBSE, this time focussing on how Building Services contractors and manufacturers are developing their digital processes and content to assist project teams.

BIMstore will be talking about their work with major building services manufacturers, why creating these objects is important for the industry and how they are now being used across the lifecycle of projects. There has even been mention of how they work with another thinkBIM favourite topic – Product Data Templates.

G&H Building Services will be describing how they have approached BIM adoption in their business – a great case study in how they have developed their digitals services in ways that suit their business and the benefits this has brought.

Turner & Townsend will also be explaining why the data in building services models is so important and demonstrating how cost certainly can be derived from this information. Focussing on quality, quantification and estimation the team from T&T will offer a great insight into 5D workflows.

To get involved join us on 9th March 2016
