— Duncan Reed (@djhreed67)Wed, May 06 2015 17:08:54- Our first speaker for the evening was Craig Havenhand (@CraigHavenhand) from Arup who was there to present on how Arup are utilising BIM on a project to update Leeds Beckett University existing capital stock, in particularly the Calverley & Portland buildings, originally built in the 1970's.
- Craig is building services engineer and an associate working within the Arup North Westand Yorkshire sub region. Craig is primarily based in Leeds and has noteworthy experience of working in multi-disciplinary building engineering groups and collaborations within design teams to realise the specific needs and expectations of each client. Craig has been involved in a variety of projects across many sectors of the industry, but Leeds Beckett University in particular is a long standing client where Arup and the University have worked together for over decade in the delivery of many fantastic projects. Craig has a keen interest in BIM and with a specific focus on how it can be used to improve the quality of design information whilst also delivering an end product which achieves the client aspirations.
