#GVIS2016 Circular Economy Conference & Bright Building tour - Wednesday 10th February 2016

Tweets, images and thoughts from our circular economy conference including a tour of the Re:Centre at University of Bradford, the first BREEAM Outstanding rated education building in the UK.

  1. Our venue for this event was the Re:Centre based in the new £6m outstanding BREEAM rated Bright Building on the City Campus of Bradford University. The Bright Building has a 95.2% Breeam rating, making it one of the highest rated educational buildings in the UK, and contains a wealth of fascinating operational features in it's approach to energy, ergonomics, heating and airflow. More of that to come in this storify, but first a selection of images of the building taken by the team and Green Vision attendees...
  2. The amount of light in this building casting some impressive shadows everywhere! #therecentre #bradforduniversity #sunlight #shadow #riba #greenvision #breeamoutstanding #gvis2016
  3. They even grow lemons in the atrium... how cool is that?
  4. Just growing some #lemons in reception... As you do... #therecentre #bradforduniversity #bioeconomy #riba #breeamoutstanding #gvis2016
  5. Some interesting #circulareconomy tweets and links on social media in the run-up to the event...
  6. Including this blog post from Green Vision Chair, Martin Brown of Fairsnape...
  7. Our chair for this event was Eddie Murphy, Green Vision Ambassador and Director/Founder of Ollio Consultancy, a brand new sustainability and building performance consultancy, founded by Eddie in 2015 to move the performance outcomes of property from the ordinary to the extraordinary.
  8. Eddie presented on the concept behind Ollio Consultancy and how to design for better measurable building performance through evidence-based science as well as giving a brief overview of one of the key themes of the day, looking beyond sustainability. Check out Ollio's mission statement below for further details.
