This is an exciting opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary and applied research team on a project that involves the development of a software plug-in tool with a view to automating building information modelling and standardization, as well as leveraging historic data in construction projects. The postholder will join a team of academic investigators and collaborating industry partners to apply their knowledge of machine learning, advanced optimisation and software development to address real-life challenges in Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industries.The position will require a mix of strong technical skills and solid domain knowledge in the area of machine learning-enabled application development. It is essential that the successful candidate demonstrates live examples of their projects that involved the use of machine learning and culminated into the development of a standalone software or a plug-in system. You will either have a relevant master’s degree or an honour’s degree with substantial experience and certifications in Machine Learning and software development.

You will join the School of the Built Environment and Engineering based at our City Campus and support our efforts in addressing real-life productivity challenges within the AEC industries through our cutting-edge and applied research. There are extensive and excellent specialist facilities located in a setting which offers many additional amenities for our students and staff.
